Robert Croutier began his woodworking career by designing and building sets for
the Firehouse Theater Company. In the 1970's his design concepts led him to
develop a furniture
building system which involved cutting and stacking pieces
without the use of any joinery. Curved and scalloped lines dominated his work.
The forms that he created combined both ingenuity and technology.
After a successful show at the Vorpal Gallery in San Francisco, Croutier
exhibited his one of a kind pieces in galleries across the U.S. and Europe such
as Gallery Fair in Mendocino, California as well as showrooms like
Kneedler-Fauchere at the San Francisco, Los Angeles, and Denver Design Centers.
Robert Croutier now specializes in one of a kind custom furniture and
cabinetry.
He builds furniture, cabinets, and creates environments for both the
home and commercial workspace. His work includes libraries, children's play rooms,
kitchens, 3D model building, entertainment rooms,
lighting, home furniture for all
rooms in the home as well as furniture for the workplace, restaurants, offices, and commercial spaces. He works very
closely with clients, creating elegant pieces at a low cost.
